The Ecology Retreat Centre (ERC) came to me with a clear goal: to move their existing website off a host-based site builder onto a more flexible, future-proof platform. Due in part, as well, to some new regulations that had come into effect, the ERC needed a site that would work better—for their team and their guests.
The result? A streamlined rebuild on WordPress using Elementor Pro—with a focus on usability, adaptability, and long-term sustainability.
Key project components included:
- Migrating the site from a limited proprietary builder into a WordPress environment
- Rebuilding each page in Elementor Pro, allowing for future edits and flexibility while maintaining stability
- Enhanced functionality via WP Forms, with integrated registration and payment forms powered by Stripe, to simplify bookings and reduce admin overhead
- Mobile responsiveness / improved navigation, to make sure the site’s accessible and intuitive for all users, across devices
This wasn’t a full rebrand or redesign—rather it was a strategic transplant with a dash of polish. By moving to WordPress and using tools like Elementor and WP Forms, the ERC now has a site that can grow with them and adapt to their needs over time.
The Ecology Retreat Centre was focused on future-proofing—and I’m pleased to say they now have a flexible, nicely functional site that supports their operations and gives them room to evolve.
